Yeah, there is a size limit. You can just open them up in a photo editing program though and resize them to a smaller size, save them under a diffferent name and then upload them.

You can also just post your work on Flikr and just provide a link in your post to the photo on Flikr.

You can also upload art work to photobucket and click on the link that says: IMG THUMB. And you'll get a thumnail of your art work, and when you click on it, i'll show up full size. EX:
