Six years had gone by, six long and incredibly hard years. How she had gone this long without seeing him, she’d never full understand. Maybe it was the strength of her sister or the spirit that possessed her body. Evyan took a deep breath, letting out a little sigh. She wasn’t sure she was ready for this. She had promised Sable she’d be in the clearing, the very same clearing the had met in 6 years ago, but she wasn’t sure she could do it. Then she heard the tiny voice in the back of her mind start nagging at her.
Evyan, I thought by now you would have realized you are braver then you give your self-credit for. Sure I was there with you that night, but you made all the moves.
Evyan laughed. “Right and who was it that told him my name? Because that sure was not me, Bel would kill me if she knew.”
The voice laughed back. I only helped you, clearly you over looked the way the boy was staring at you. My dear Evyan, he’s in love with you. Don’t deny him.
“As if I have a choice,” Evyan paused looking at herself in the mirror. “you think he’d still love me, once he found out what I am?”
And what are you Evyangeline Marie Lewis Heart?
“Sometimes I don’t know how to answer you C.” That was what Evyan had called the spirit who had taken residence in her body. Her mother told her it was a great honor to be chosen for the task of carrying around a ‘greater spirit’, but there were times when she highly doubted it. Sometimes she wanted to be like her sister Bel who was for the most part normal. C, the spirit, knew this of course and stayed out of Evyan’s way. Letting her live an almost normal life, but there were times when she would step in and that annoyed Evyan. One of those nights was the night she’d told the werewolf her name. Evyan didn’t want to tell him, it was stupid and reckless for a werewolf to posse her name but C had spoken for her. Evyan received nothing from it, only a letter the next night when she returned to the clearing. A plea from the young werewolf to return the next night, Evyan wanted to run and tell Bel or her mother....but C refused to let her. So she met the boy, Who's name was Sable. She had also promised him she'd return 6 years from that night, and now that night had come.
Evyan opened her window and started down the side of the drain pipe. When she was almost to the bottom, she jumped. In the back of her mind, she heard C mumble something about killing them both but she didn’t pay any attention. Most of the time Evyan tuned her out, just like C did her. Evyan and C rarely fought about who was in charge of Evyan’s body, however there were moments when Evyan wished C would shut up and remain dormant. As Evyan walked away from the two story Victorian house her and her sister lived in, she wished she would turn around.
Keep walking Evyangeline, you made a promise. C the greater spirit spoke in her head.
Evyan shook her head. “I didn’t promise anything.”
C laughed. I wasn’t talking about the boy, I mean to me. I am very interested in why he’s so love struck with you little angel.
“I don’t care.”
More to come once I actually write it.
